how to prepare and what to expect from your occupational
therapy evaluation

This evaluation is conducted by an occupational therapist, who will determine how your illness or injury has affected your ability to work, care for yourself and family, and participate in the leisure activities you enjoy.

How to Prepare

Please arrive for this outpatient procedure at the time and location given to you.

Please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring or wear them to the evaluation.

You may eat and drink as usual and remain active right up until the time of your appointment.

What to Expect

The occupational therapist will ask you to perform a variety of movements and assume different positions that relate to your work and other everyday activities such as lifting, reaching, driving, and sitting.

The occupational therapy evaluation takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. You may resume your normal activities immediately.
